Recent Work.

• Led change management for an oil major’s new-technology implementation project.  The scope of this complex project involved working closely with the client in a multi-supplier team in the UK and West Africa.  We designed adjustments to the organisation, mapped and modified processes, changed working patterns and identified and addressed training needs, and collected and addressed several stakeholder concerns.  As a result, the Asset succeeded in harnessing the technology from day one in its new oilfield start-up.

 

• Provided safety, health and environment audit training for an oil major, and conducted a number of reviews and audits.

 

• Delivered management training workshops for a global oil company in Europe, Asia and S. America in English and German.

 

• Supported UK Government initiatives by carrying out cultural audits of the British oil and gas and civil engineering industries and facilitated a cross-company culture change process.

 

• Ran Business Excellence Model assessments, employee surveys and focus groups for an Oil Company Europe / Africa business units. Subsequently led senior management team strategy workshops to modify strategy and develop remedial action plans. 

 

• Facilitated cross-company supply chain and asset team improvement efforts leading to improved supply chain, communication and teamwork in a major North Sea Oilfield Asset. This resulted in reduced costs, enhanced third-party business and ultimately an increased NPV of the field. 

 

• Managed planning of training programme at start-up of a North Sea Gasfield Development Project. Conducted training needs analysis and developed a training plan, which was instrumental in the Project adopting learning as a key business driver.  Subsequently work included design and delivery of the initial orientation, teambuilding and soft skills training. As a result of this and other early training, teams reached peak performance early; and project and budget targets were met or exceeded. 

 

• Supported the Leadership Team of a FTSE 250 company to design and implement organisational restructuring, following disappointing business results.

 

• Facilitated the development of partnering strategies for several major water and transport utility projects, then devised and ran a programme of workshops to engage and train all project team members, enabling them to be completed on time and to budget.  One project was recognised as a Movement for Innovation Demonstration Project. 

 

• Managed a customer survey project for a FTSE 250 Engineering Company and facilitated the subsequent redesign of sales, production and customer care practices throughout the company. 

 

• Supported the project management of a complex reorganisation of the Pathology Directorate of a major UK teaching hospital, which

resulted in integrated service provision by a co-located service, previously delivered from separate departments in scattered laboratories.

 

• Managed a multi-agency project in the West of England to transfer the provision of Learning Difficulty care service from the public to the

voluntary sector.  Succeeded in facilitating unanimous agreement on a number of previously contentious issues, which allowed the project to get back on schedule.

 

• Project managed the DfES Children in Need Census for a London Borough Social Services Department, which required close cooperation with the IS Team.

 

• Led a business analysis for a Government Agency that provides technology services to the pharmaceutical, biotech and related sectors.  This study enabled the Agency to develop its commercial strategy to meet its demanding new targets.

 

• Designed and delivered diverse management workshops for a Global FMCG Company, including effective leadership, teamwork, total quality management, benchmarking, sales skills, delegation and time management, customer service and facilitation skills; tailored to the client’s specific needs.

 

• Facilitated business process modelling and reengineering projects for a retail bank and transferred skills to internal consultants providing key support to a major strategic change programme.
